During the summer of ’22 I attended an event. One of the staff of the host organization spoke. I told one of her peers that the speaker was a “hot mess”. To some that may sound mean. I think it is disrespectful for me as a guest to have put more work in preparing to attend than one of the speakers put in.
She looked like she had rolled out of bed and onto the podium. No or little thought in what she wore, at the least her hair could have used a brush or a wash, no make-up.
Fast forward to 2024. Again she spoke on behalf of her organization. There was “observable measurable” evidence that she put time into her hair, makeup and lipstick on her face, thought into her clothes.
She protected her message by putting time into her visual. #visualcounts #speaker #coach
